Lake Trasimeno: the blue heart of Italy

THE LEGEND
The legend talk about the son of the king Tirreno, Prince Trasimeno. One day, from his camp, he saw a nymph bathed, Agilla. The prince fell in love immediately of nymph and between the two became an overwhelming love that ends with their marriage. The morning next the wedding, the prince Trasimeno decided to swim in the lake. Agilla saw him dive into the lake but it sucks in its water and he disappeared forever.
From that day Agilla was to wait for his beloved, constantly searching but to no avail. Agilla ended his days on a boat in the center of the lake, where controlled all boats to search for the face of his lost love.
It is said that even today, in the summer when the wind blows from Tuscany, you hear the cry of the nymph who calls his beloved.
THE ISLANDS
Throughout the history of Lake Trasimeno also had other names: Cliton, Agillino, Plestina, Lake of Perugia, Lake of Castiglione.
Lake Trasimeno, with an area of 128 square kilometers and a circumference of 45 kilometers, and, by extension, is the largest in mainland Italyand fourth in the country.
Of tectonic origin, Lake Trasimeno has a laminar depth of 6 m. about. And 'fed by several streams, by ditches.
Since no natural emissaries saw an attempt at regulation by Romans, who dug the first artificial outlet to which it was added a second to the late nineteenth century. On the banks of the lake on three sides overlooking the hills covered by olive.

Umbria tourism: eco tour between wine and oils

"My goal was to recycle old wood and make them into something completely different.
