President of the Region of Umbria has announced a new way to promote regional tourism: Cicloturismo in Umbria.

In cycling, why not? Open crushers 2010 - Italian DOP oil

Twenty-nine companies and nine joint are the protagonists the thirteenth edition of Open Crushers, scheduled from October 30 to December 8 in Umbria.

In the 6 weekend program will mainly mills Umbria open to welcome the many visitors and squares of the municipalities participating at the event there will be many activities related to oil, culture and cuisine of Umbria. It will be possible to harvest the olives, crushing attend and participate in individual cultural, trekking to the olive trees, museum visits, educational activities to learn to use the oil in the kitchen, as well as those dedicated to children. Suggestive will also be walking for pleasure with tastings and visits to olive presses in the trees.

The Region supports the project this year with an important economic contribution. A strong support is given to oil because it 's tourist element, promotion and a key part of our economy. We try to give short answers to the oil industry from all points of view.'' THE LEGEND
The legend talk about the son of the king Tirreno, Prince Trasimeno. One day, from his camp, he saw a nymph bathed, Agilla. The prince fell in love immediately of nymph and between the two became an overwhelming love that ends with their marriage.
