Ancient city whose origins date back to the top of the Umbrian civilization, as evidenced by the Tables of Gubbio (seven bronze tablets written in the Umbrian language preserved in the Museo Civico in Palazzo dei Consoli), was named by the Romans and then Iguvium Eugubium. Destroyed by the Goths (552), which took over first the Byzantines (592) and then the Lombards (772), resources in the eleventh century, when it was constituted as a free city. Marathon Valentine's in Terni
Sunday, February 20, 2011 will take place in Terni, the First edition of the Marathon Valentine's national road race over a distance of 42.195 km and 21.097 km regional.
The track event, which falls within the Programme of Events Valentinians 2011, is organized dall'ASD Amateur Podistica Terni in collaboration with the Diocesi of Terni, Narni, Amelia, with municipalities, institutions and associations Pro Loco di Terni, Ferentillo, Arrochar, Montefranco , Narni, and the patronage of the Umbria Region and the Province of Terni.
The event is open to all, adults of both sexes, FIDAL or sports promotion bodies, in accordance with local sanitary laws, respecting the agreements signed with the FIDAL. By participating, entrants may be accomplished by age 18 and over and foreign athletes enrolled in Italian society.
Although the initiative is the debut, has already attracted significant interest and a lot of success far beyond expectations of the organizers said the chairman of the Beloved runners, Giuliano Fiorini.
Marathon Valentine's Day, besides being an important event from the sporting side is also a way for the enhancement and promotion of the Terni area, thanks to the organizers planned route, runners will have the opportunity to go for the most representative of Terni.
Starting from the marathon route Ferentillo winds along the Valnerina, along the Fiume Nera, through the Marmore Falls and continuing until the middle of Terni.
During this initiative, the Integrated Tourism DITT District of the province of Terni, has established contracts with accommodation facilities in the territory on better promote the acceptance of event participants.

The Changing Planet - exhibition in Perugia
From 02/10/2010 to 05/06/2011 in Perugia, Palazzo Baldeschi there is an exhibition dedicated to the climate of the earth: The Changing Planet.
The exhibition gives visitors of all ages to the latest research on climate change and analyzes the impact these could have on our future. The interactive installations, pictures and dioramas that meet along the exhibition will help to understand the close link between energy resources, technological development and climate change.
Visitors can experience firsthand what impact they have on climate simple choices such as using more efficient light bulbs or public transport, and through some simulations can be calculated in real time how these choices affect the emission of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the temperature of the Earth. Climate change is told through the description of violent phenomena such as hurricanes, floods or seasons of intense heat.
The exhibition also presents some of the main sources of alternative energy to fossil fuels: solar energy introduced through the looking glass of a solar collector, made from the nuclear metal balls for a nuclear reactor, and wind energy thanks to the described segment of a blade a giant wind turbine. Finally, a documentary edited by Piero Angela deals with energy in the Italian context, highlighting the complexity of the solutions and the specific features that are specific to each part of the "changing planet.
