The Changing Planet - exhibition in Perugia

From 02/10/2010 to 05/06/2011 in Perugia, Palazzo Baldeschi there is an exhibition dedicated to the climate of the earth: The Changing Planet.

The Changing Planet

The exhibition gives visitors of all ages to the latest research on climate change and analyzes the impact these could have on our future. The interactive installations, pictures and dioramas that meet along the exhibition will help to understand the close link between energy resources, technological development and climate change.

Visitors can experience firsthand what impact they have on climate simple choices such as using more efficient light bulbs or public transport, and through some simulations can be calculated in real time how these choices affect the emission of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the temperature of the Earth. Climate change is told through the description of violent phenomena such as hurricanes, floods or seasons of intense heat.

The exhibition also presents some of the main sources of alternative energy to fossil fuels: solar energy introduced through the looking glass of a solar collector, made from the nuclear metal balls for a nuclear reactor, and wind energy thanks to the described segment of a blade a giant wind turbine. Finally, a documentary edited by Piero Angela deals with energy in the Italian context, highlighting the complexity of the solutions and the specific features that are specific to each part of the "changing planet. Cycling in Umbria

President of the Region of Umbria has announced a new way to promote regional tourism: Cicloturismo in Umbria.

In cycling, why not? Indeed, to think of it, for its green landscapes, the countryside and villages, is not the most beautiful Umbria when viewed this way?Be able to enjoy, to feel in its details of landscape and architecture, history, people, with the refined slowness of people walking on foot, but multiplied by the beautiful simplicity of the mechanical means not at all, as it appeared, was called (and is still called, in the highway code) velocipede?

It 'a way of "slow" for tourism, such as hiking or horseback, a style that fits in a special way to Umbria, by returning to the atmosphere and feel of old when the trip was serious in the sense of adventure body and spirit, as they knew Goethe and Hermann Hesse, to mention only two famous travelers in Umbria - who walked the notes and drawings, leaving us insights and ideas that affect us even today, as to go to the heart, clearly the essence immutable certain peculiar traits of our region.

Today those who are in Umbria, perhaps planning their itineraries on the "web", can count on all the benefits of modernity, in transport and accommodation, in opportunities for enjoyment of culture and excellence, the "package" that is different in degree to bring our rich tourist offer. But this does not preclude, in contact with nature, with town centers, with the villages, with woods, valleys and waters, the observant visitor is transported into a dimension that seems to cross over and merge the centuries, the past with the present. This spell is called tradition and spirit of the places that, if we still exist, it means that we have been able to retain them.
For this we can only give a warm welcome at the helm of Umbria by bike: 30 tours to explore the Green Heart of Italy ", made for traveling on a moving bicycle and the good fortune which may happen, our fields and Umbrian territories, to run into those who loved inns as Hermann Hesse, and still like him to eat what is now called "typical" and drink a glass of wine before heading to the discovery of new beauties and pleasures.

This is also the quality of life, and Umbria has much to offer!

In 1250 the Terzieri appear in the act of submission to Perugia where the ancient Castel della Pieve is definitely revert, after a brief period of freedom due to the protection of the Emperor Frederick II of Swabia.

Today the Knights of Terzieri recall the ancient hunting Bull, challenging art of archery, striking silhouettes representing the Chianina breed of bulls set on mobile platforms.

Extreme sports in Valnerina

From Marmore Waterfall along the Black River valley, between two wings of mountains looming sometimes, you feel enveloped also a place rich in history and culture. Medieval villages, churches and abbeys, villages perched on the hills surrounding accompany the traveler to Cascia, who was the birthplace of St. Rita, and Norcia Benedictine.
A comprehensive tourism system, the circuit Terni - Valnerina able to surprise and give away thousands of opportunities to those who, in a week - end, wants to be reckless and curious, fascinated and captured by art and fantasia:

Climbing in Valnerina
The "head of the old" rock the Rocky Mountain Institute, always looks the villages of Precept and rolling pin bar the long valley where they still nest in rare families, owls, eagles and hawks. A little further lies the most important religious settlement of Valnerina: the abbey of San Pietro in Valle. Below you find the famous and ghostly phenomenon of "mummies": the chemical composition of the soil has mummified the bodies of a cemetery inside the church. And Ferentillo. Here you can climb.

Rafting
The inflatable floats, all are dressed in red and screaming releasing tension and little crazy. From inside there is a sophisticated view of nature, faster, more full and complete. By rafting is very easy to carry, participating with its own active role at the helm, the rapids of the river on a raft air: it starts a few tens of meters from the waterfall Salto Marmore. Clothing, jacket, helmet, six surfers more driving. A quick lesson allows everyone to participate in the run. And within three kilometres away to powerful rapids. Upstream the river is placid and 12 km from Arrone and children can also take down the Black by providing an environment that looks like a movie. It 's the "rafting - soft."

Canoe River and canoe slalom
It can be done in appropriate way and in the right way Piediluco Lake, where a canal that leads into the basin water under high pressure creates ideal conditions to learn and practice the basic techniques of surfing power. Similarly you can do on Black River or diving in the compact nature of the Horn River. Waterfall Downstream from Marmore Falls, field facilities enabling everyone to learn the slalom canoeing with confidence with teachers enablers.

Trekking
"God is in the details" repeated Le Corbusier. Meet, depart, go, walk, conquer space, step by step, through the ancient pedestrian traffic in the landscape. Try, dare, watch closely. Transform a simple walk into something complete. This is the hiking done well. Only then can you do in Terni, because it's natural, obvious in these places. Tourism is not an invention. Otherwise it all comes down to walk, walk. And then go back. Dozens of nature trails offer runners not only capable of showing the way but also to inform on the "why" of places and environments, a wide range of possibilities for physical characteristics and natural and environmental interests.

Canyoning
A hybrid discipline, including mountain climbing and caving. A total immersion in "heavy" nature  of geological phenomena not yet fully softened by time. A go behind the waterways that make their way in the perennial game that is established between a street and let themselves be led to create, divert, derive. Chasing a result, look for an unexpected situation, go and see. Place names damage the taste experience: Valnerina, Farra del Casco, Farra di Pago le Fosse, Gole di Roccagelli, Fossa del Bagno, Gola del Fosso Campione.

Cycling
Cycling immersed in a wood in direct contact with nature and away from noise and traffic. Climb up some steep trail in the mountains and then enjoy the view, plunge to a technical single track in the forest or enjoy a convenient dirt road between the olive trees or vines going from one village to another.
These are some of the opportunities that Umbria offers mountain bikers, bike versatile with its many opportunities to use is an ideal way for beginners who want to enjoy a Sunday of tranquillity surrounded by nature, is for lovers more motivated than their cars depreciated want to conquer the rugged peaks and address the more technical descents, as well as for tourists who do not like the track and want to visit the area away from traffic and air that only the paths and roads campaign knows propose
