Cycling in Umbria

President of the Region of Umbria has announced a new way to promote regional tourism: Cicloturismo in Umbria.

In cycling, why not? Indeed, to think of it, for its green landscapes, the countryside and villages, is not the most beautiful Umbria when viewed this way?Be able to enjoy, to feel in its details of landscape and architecture, history, people, with the refined slowness of people walking on foot, but multiplied by the beautiful simplicity of the mechanical means not at all, as it appeared, was called (and is still called, in the highway code) velocipede?

It 'a way of "slow" for tourism, such as hiking or horseback, a style that fits in a special way to Umbria, by returning to the atmosphere and feel of old when the trip was serious in the sense of adventure body and spirit, as they knew Goethe and Hermann Hesse, to mention only two famous travelers in Umbria - who walked the notes and drawings, leaving us insights and ideas that affect us even today, as to go to the heart, clearly the essence immutable certain peculiar traits of our region.

Today those who are in Umbria, perhaps planning their itineraries on the "web", can count on all the benefits of modernity, in transport and accommodation, in opportunities for enjoyment of culture and excellence, the "package" that is different in degree to bring our rich tourist offer. But this does not preclude, in contact with nature, with town centers, with the villages, with woods, valleys and waters, the observant visitor is transported into a dimension that seems to cross over and merge the centuries, the past with the present. This spell is called tradition and spirit of the places that, if we still exist, it means that we have been able to retain them.
For this we can only give a warm welcome at the helm of Umbria by bike: 30 tours to explore the Green Heart of Italy ", made for traveling on a moving bicycle and the good fortune which may happen, our fields and Umbrian territories, to run into those who loved inns as Hermann Hesse, and still like him to eat what is now called "typical" and drink a glass of wine before heading to the discovery of new beauties and pleasures.

This is also the quality of life, and Umbria has much to offer!
